BORNEO SERIES PROGRAMME 14D13N
Day 1 ARRIVAL KOTA KINABALU
Arrive in Kota Kinabalu International Airport, greet and transfer to your accommodation and explore the city on your own. Overnight stay in Kota Kinabalu.
Day 2 CITY TOUR / LOK KAWI WILDLIFE PARK / TAMBUNAN (B/-/D)
After breakfast, briefing on the overall programs. Check-out and transfer to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park. The park consists of two components: zoological and botanical. The main objective of the park is to become a family-oriented park and the emphasis is put on the Children’s Zoo. Among the inhabitants of the zoo (zoological component) are the Borneo Pygmy elephants, Sumatran rhinoceros, Orang Utan, Proboscis monkey, Malayan tiger, as well as some different species of deer. Thereafter continue driving to Tambunan District. Check-in accommodation and begin to explore the surrounding. Overnight stay in Tambunan.
Day 3 TAMBUNAN (B/L/D)
After breakfast, transfer to Mahua Waterfall begin to explore the tropical rainforest. If you are lucky, you may even spot a blooming rafflesia, the largest flower in the world. Rest of the afternoon spend your time at the waterfall for cool and refreshing swims. Continue to visit native villages and mingle with the natives as you walk around their village. Return to your accommodation and rest of the activities will be advised by Tour Guide. Overnight stay in Tambunan.
Day 4 TAMBUNAN / MT. TRUSMADI (B/-/D)
After breakfast, check out and transfer Sinua Village for the Mt. Trusmadi climb activity. Overnight at at Base Camp 1.
Day 5 MT. TRUSMADI (B/L/D)
After breakfast, start trekking to Base Camp 2 (8 km). Rest and overnight.
Day 6 SUMMIT / MT. TRUSMADI (B/L/D)
Midnight supper. Start ascending at 1.30am to reach summit. Watch sunrise at the peak of Mount Trusmadi (2642 a.s.l). Return to Base Camp 1, rest and overnight.
Day 7 TAMBUNAN / SANDAKAN (B/-/-)
Check-out and begin overland drive to Sandakan. Visit Luanti Fish Spa en route. Arrive Sandakan, free at own arrangement. Overnight at Sandakan.
Day 8 SEPILOK / BILIT, KINABATANGAN (B/-/D)
After breakfast, visit Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre, walk ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden boardwalks to witness the feeding of the orang utans at 1000hrs. Overland transfer to Kg. Bilit, Kinabatangan. Take a river cruise along Kinabatangan River in search of wildlife and birds. Overnight at Bilit, Kinabatangan.
Day 9 SANDAKAN / BILIT, KINABATANGAN (B/L/D)
Take morning river cruise up the to view more birds and wildlife. More activities will be arranged at the village. Stay overnight at Bilit, Kinabatangan.
Day 10 SANDAKAN / KUDAT (B/-/D)
After breakfast, overland transfer to Kudat. Arrive Kudat, traditional welcoming dance. Visit honey bee farm and other farming activities. Village walk and learn traditional beads making. Night walk while setting up crab trap. Overnight at homestay Kudat.
Day 11 KUDAT (B/L/D)
After breakfast, proceed mangrove trekking, crab catching, and beach activities. Visit traditional Rungus longhouse and join the traditional cultural dance. Overnight at homestay Kudat.
Day 12 KUDAT / KOTA KINABALU (B/L/-)
After breakfast, visit Gong making centre. After lunch, proceed journey back to Kota Kinabalu. Free at own arrangement. Overnight at Kota Kinabalu.
Day 13 KOTA KINABALU / ISLAND TRIP (B/L/-)
After breakfast, transfer to Jesselton Point jetty for your Mari-Mari Sepanggar Island trip. Snorkelling activity, other water activities available on the island. Return to Jesselton Point jetty late afternoon. Farewell dinner. Overnight at Kota Kinabalu.
Day 14 DEPARTURE (B)
After breakfast, free at own arrangement before check out and transfer to Kota Kinabalu International Airport for flight departure.
