Sandakan, the second-largest town in Sabah, was once known as "Elopura." Visitors to Sandakan, also known as the "nature city," will have the chance to visit wildlife refuges and learning facilities. The city is renowned for its abundance of flavorful, fresh seafood. Due to the significant Chinese immigration from Hong Kong in the past, Sandakan was also known as Sabah's very own "Little Hong-Kong." The Lower Kinabatangan, famous for its animal river safari, is also accessible from here.
